Description

WHO ARE WE?

  • The Birkbeck Black Students’ Network represents Black students of African, Asian, Arab and Caribbean descent, at a local and national level on all issues affecting Black students.
  • The network is ran by our Black Students' Officer, Ikenna Okoye-Ahaneku,  who is excited to work with anyone who would like to get involved, or just join the community!

WHAT DO WE DO?

  • The Network focuses on equality in education, black representation, anti-racism and anti-facism, and international peace and justice.

WHEN DO WE MEET?

  • Specific dates have not yet been set, but regular meetings and events will be in place for the community to discuss, share opinions and get involved in any projects upcoming!

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

  • Join the group! The best way to have the most up to date information on how to get involved is to join as a member. It is free, so what are you waiting for!

Birkbeck Students' Union groups are only open to full membership for enrolled Birkbeck students. Other membership categories may exist depending on the group's constitution and the approval of the SU's Executive Committee.

In additional to the general term and conditions for Birkbeck Students' Union organised and managed events, all our Clubs, Societies, Networks and Projects may apply additonal conditions on attendance. Examples can be, and not limited to, membership of a club or society, students from one programme or class, self-organised groups and liberation campaigns limited to participants on a self-defining basis into the group membership (e.g. LGBTQ+ students or women only).

All attendees at an event must register in advance and ensure they bring along a copy of their e-ticket and their Birkbeck student ID.
