Birkbeck Students’ Union is in a very exciting time of developing new plans and services within the Union. Part of the vision is for the Union to expand its Advice Service to better represent students, provide consistent and excellent support to our members.
This is a new post designed to provide free, impartial and confidential advice for our membership. You will be expected to cultivate an environment which creates a culture of excellence in customer service, where customer needs and expectations are identified, measured and met or exceeded at all times.
You will be empowering and enabling students to represent themselves within academic issues they may face. You will have the opportunity to provide new and innovative ways to expand the methods of advice given to students, and be part of a growing team.
You will bestow knowledge and effective tools for students to help them succeed throughout their time at University.
You will be building and maintaining relationships across the University to better the lives of students and the overall student experience.
Please note this post will be working remotely for the first few months.
We are looking for a knowledgeable individual who understands policies and procedures relating to advice services and advocacy. A great organiser who can manage their own casework and work independently. An effective communicator who has excellent verbal and written skills, and is able to convey complex advice in an appropriate manner. A good team player who is pro-active and has a willingness to learn.
Grade 4 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £26,209 rising to £29,732 per annum pro rata.
