WHAT DO COMMITTEE MEMBERS DO?
The Committee plays a crucial and vital role in the day-to-day management of the Society.
The Committee is made of a minimum of 3 principal members who are elected or appointed by during their Club or Society's Annual General Meeting, whereby the Committee acts and make decisions on behalf of its members. Each Club and Society's Committee structure varies and will have different titles and varying responsibilities. However, the information here will give you a general overview of how a Club or Society's Committee will function and what the individual roles are.
There are three essential roles on every committee and a whole host of interesting optional roles.

President
Secretary
Treasurer

President
The President is the leader of the society, who coordinates and oversees all of the society’s activity. The President will need to provide support, advice and guidance to the other committee members throughout the academic year. Probably the most challenging role on the committee, you’ll need experience of what the society does, and a strong belief in the aims of the society.

Secretary
The Secretary is the backbone of the organisation of any society and ensure that things run smoothly. Email communications need to be written, rooms need to be booked, documents are filled out and above all you need to communicate what’s going on to your members so they stay interested and stay involved.

Others
A society can function (just about!) with only a President, Secretary and Treasurer. However, to make your society bigger and better you can create as many optional roles in your committee are you want. Here are a few ideas:
